Post #510 of 761 total is from November 25, 2013 in my current blog:
Good morning! Friday was a perfect day. I cleaned the house, got the mail, went to work, sent out the grocery list for the day, showered, & then knitted a sweater for our Chihuahua who has been a little chilly in this fall weather (2nd pic). Friday's Sims game was Small Steps Daycare & my Sim Vinnie has been working on his skills & going to work. Saturday was a perfect day too ... I took the dogs out, made a bologna sandwich for lunch & a bagel for breakfast (not in that order), sent the grocery list out, got the mail, created a Pandora account & found out that I like Pandora, took the dogs out, then sat down to work on my Star Trek themed braided mile-a-minute afghan for the evening. Saturday's Sims game was Autumn Road. I created Chris (1st gen) who is lucky, loves the cold, hydrophobic, equestrian, & a loser. His lifetime wish is to be a jockey. He likes shawarma, custom music, & the color red. He's a Sagittarius. He's been working on his riding skill on his Holstein who is fast, piggy, & agile. Perfect days are coming back to back, because Sunday was too. I'm liking this. I'm finally getting everything done & getting crafting time in too. WOOHOO! I took the dogs out, went through the Sunday paper, made french toast for breakfast, cleaned the house, sent the grocery list out, had a game of Gomoku, took the dogs out, made grilled cheese for lunch, & then sat down to play Sims for the evening. I played that until the game burped & got stuck. My child Sim suddenly stopped aging a day before he was supposed to age up into a teen. At that point I gave up & then moved to the living room to work on a new, better fitting cabled canuck hat. This one is going to be great! :) Yesterday's Sims game was the sculptor career. My Sim Chris has reached level 10 of the sculpting skill & is on his way to level 10 of the sculpting career, though he's not there just yet. Chris's Son Edward has aged up into a child & is working on random skills until he's old enough to work on the sculpting station. Unfortunately, that's where the game got stuck. He was supposed to age up on a Sunday in the game, but when Sunday rolled around, he still had 1 day to go before he aged up into a teen. I checked the game settings & aging is enabled ... which makes sense because he's been aging up until now. Monday morning rolled around & the school bus came & still no birthday. Crap. I'm going to have to force an age-up the next time I play this game. Last night was a rough night to sleep. Lots of people at fault here. 1) US. We couldn't afford to get Joselyn fixed, so she's in heat. 2) OUR OLDER CHILD & HER EX. They brought Joselyn home & promised they'd take care of her. Now they're gone & we're stuck with her. She's a great dog, but we really weren't ready for a huge dog. 3) OUR YOUNGER CHILD. He tore down our fence, meaning that not only can we not keep Joselyn outside longer during the day because now we have to tie her out on a cable, but other dogs can get to her. 4) THE OWNER OF THIS HUGE MALE DOG. There's a huge, beautiful male dog that showed up last night & hasn't left. He's gorgeous! He looks like a very LARGE mix of a Husky & a white German Shepard. Super friendly. Problem ... he wants Joselyn. He has been at the back door since early yesterday evening & hasn't left. He whines at the back door, barks, & howls. We went to bed & suddenly he stood up & started scratching at the screen & back door! We had to move patio furniture to block the back door to keep him from destroying the screen & all glass door! This morning he's still there & I HAD to take the dogs out. The Chihuahuas will NOT go out there with this moose-sized strange dog at the door, so I'm going to be cleaning up Chihuahua crap off the floor later & mopping up little Chihuahua piddles damnit! There was no way I was going to let Joselyn crap in the house though, so out she went. I clipped her onto her cable & before I got back into the house & closed the door (her cable was AT the back door!) the big male dog was rapidly humping her head. He didn't even wait for her to turn around. I walked into the kitchen, got a glass, poured some milk, looked out & they were connected. Puppies. Just what we needed. Hubby, myself, the owner of this male dog, both our kids, & our daughter's ex ... we're all responsible for this. OK ... I'm asking now. Who wants an American Boxer / Husky / Pitbull / White German Shepard - mix puppy? They're going to be huge. Assuming they were successful in conceiving this morning, they're due to be born January 27th & they'll be ready for new homes March 10th. Who wants a St. Patrick's Day puppy? Speaking of adopting a furry companion, we have 2 kittens & a female cat available. Smokey is the female mother cat, the kittens are a long-haired orange kitten & a shorter-haired gray tiger stripe. Thanksgiving cat or kitten anyone? Living in a rural area, we end up with a lot of dumped pets who need homes. Only Xoco, our Chihuahua, & Harley, our gray & white cat ... are chosen by us. All the rest of our pets have been rescued. Our other Chihuahua Browser ... found at the water company in town. Smokey the female cat, found at the same place (gotta stay away from that water company!).

Blog Today:
Wow, that previous blog post is filled with memories! I had a perfect day yesterday, too. I actually had time for everything for a change. Today I probably won't though because I spent an hour moving all 8 cameras in our 8 camera set. 7 out of the 8 face outside now. Why? Yesterday morning at 9:09a I saw 2 shadows walk past our bedroom window. The camera faced in towards the middle of the room & you can see the light from the window on one of the walls. Well, 2 distinct human figures walked past the window. Now we're not right on the road, we have a fairly large front yard & there are no shadows from people walking on the street, it's just too far away. Whoever those 2 people were, they were right up near the house. That really bothered me. Then when my husband came home from work last night, our neighbor came over & met him in the driveway as he got out of the car & showed him a video from his outdoor camera ... a man walked into his back yard & sat down on a bench my neighbor has by his shed. My neighbor was able to talk to the man through the camera (my neighbor wasn't home at the time) & the man said that he just needed to sit down for a few minutes (to be fair it was over 100° at this time. Like my cameras, there's full audio so my neighbor heard this man talking after he sat down. Now we don't know if this was directed at the neighbor or if he was on the phone with someone & had a Bluetooth in his ear, but the man said "I have a gun, I'll kill you!". Well, shit. So ... I spent this morning turning all my cameras to face outside. I have an 8 camera set that all show on a single viewing screen. I had 1 facing the driveway & 1 facing the back yard, but now I have 7 out of the 8 pointing outside. 1 facing in each direction, left, straight, & right in the front & the same in the back. The 7th is pointed directly at the cars in the driveway. They are pointing like a fan: \ | / The 8th & final camera is in the living room next to the front door & covers the inside of the house ... living room, dining room, & kitchen. I have indoor cameras so I can save memories of my dogs. Little 1 minute videos of them playing, walking around, etc. That was the original purpose, but the indoor cameras became priceless after my son committed suicide. He hated having his picture taken & wouldn't allow it, so I have almost no photos of him, but I DO have video of him from when he lived here. Video of him walking into the kitchen to grab a snack & then heading back to his room. It's all I have left ... those little 1 minute videos. Now indoor cameras mean even more to me. Besides memories of my dogs, I have the videos of my son & husband ... because if my husband goes before me, I'll cherish all these videos of him puttering around the house. But now I'm down to only 3 indoor camera & 7 outdoor cameras. I guess that sufficient. lol

Craft:
I got to work on my knit socks yesterday while watching A Few Good Men via the Roku Media Player. These socks are going to take forever. They use regular yarn but very small size 3 needles which means many many more rows are needed to get the length I want. I'm seriously thinking of scrapping the project & starting over on size 8 needles. Since the pattern is done strictly by measurements, I can do the same thing on size 8 that I can do on size 3 but in almost 1/3 the time. Yeah, I think that's the new plan. I'm going to restart on size 8s.

Dinner:
Tonight I'm going to make my favorite style of eggs ... over easy with buttered toast & sausage.

Game of the Day:
Mahjong

Home:
The home location I'd like to concentrate on improving today is the back yard. The only problem with that is when I get to that it's also going to be the hottest time of the day & here, that's going to be 99°. Nope!

Minecraft:
I'm going to make my regular windows into long windows (floor to ceiling. I mean, I live on a beautiful island with lots of light so why not expand my view! This is easier than usual because of the island being surrounded by sand, so glass is easier to come by than usual.

Post #436 of 760 total is from August 28, 2013 in my old blog:
Back to work. Yesterday was a busy day off, but at least I managed to get some relax time in. I talked to Pete, planned my next DIY project, got the mail, processed an incoming Avon order, swept the living room, picked Kyle up from school, tried to get Kyle to mow the lawn well but, oh well ... then went through my AOL e-mail & settled down to play Minecraft until Pete got home from work. One day I'll figure the game out. Right now I'm just trying to stay alive after dark. LOL! I did manage to create a home. I burrowed into the side of a mountain & stuck a front door on the opening. It's not pretty on the outside unless you like houses that look like a mountain, but it works & it works well. I mined down underneath it by creating a staircase & have found metals & minerals that way. Next I need to learn how to plant seeds & have a ranch so I can breed food. Eating is proving to be a challenge because the cows are on the other side of the mountain & hard to find. I hear them, I just can't find them & when I do, I kill it & have 1 steak. Not much. I keep hearing sheep, but haven't been able to find them yet so I don't yet have a bed. Anyway ... Minecraft. Interesting game. Yesterday's Sims game (Oh I'm SO much better at Sims than Minecraft!) was Modern Mediterranean & my Sim Piper is in the university on a distinguished phys ed award. She's been going to classes. This morning is back to work for 5 days, but even though I got up sorta early, I'm way behind because of family stuff. I took the dogs out & then talked to Pete, & Ann-Marie ... wrote a long e-mail to Kyle, & then had to place my Avon order. It wasn't due in until tomorrow morning, but considering that I never know what tomorrow will bring, I placed it today just to be safe. If something ... anything goes wrong & I'm not able to hit send on that order by a certain time tomorrow morning, it would then cost extra because it was placed late or I'd have to wait 2 weeks to place it again which would make everything in that order obsolete since the catalogs are time sensitive. Yeah, to be safe I'll always be placing my orders 1 day ahead of the deadline. This morning's Sims game is Fredericksburg & my Sim Elizabeth is currently pregnant & can't go to the university yet. That's OK, that gives her some time to work on her skills & maybe get a partial scholarship. Right now she has none.

Blog Today:
My random previous blog post is so cool! It was when I was BRAND NEW at Minecraft & had no idea what I was doing! OMG the memories! That made my day. I remember that world, my very 1st world ever. I wish I still had that world. I think a lot of people do. Me & my son talked about that once, how it would have been amazing if we knew to never ever delete that very 1st world we played. I also wish I could get that feeling back, a lot of people do. That feeling of Minecraft being brand new to us. Not much is going on in the past 24 hours. I am completely stumped as to why I no longer have any time. I used to finish everything & sit down to relax, craft, & watch TV somewhere around 1 every afternoon. Then I got back into blogging & that added about an hour to my 1st 1/3 of the day routine, meaning in theory, depending on the length of the blog, I should be sitting down to relax around 2-2:30 now. Nope, something has gone terribly wrong & now I find myself with NO time to relax. Sitting on the sofa, crafting, & TV time are just gone. I have been finishing everything around 5p the previous week. Yesterday it was even worse, I didn't finish until almost 7 which wiped out any Minecraft time I usually have. I swear I have no idea what happened, but I'm going to have to change something soon so I get my relax time back. It's that whole "All work & no play" thing ... I really do need to just sit on the sofa & decompress a little bit every day & that hasn't happened for over a week. I also just really miss crafting. It's relaxing & productive because I have something I can use or sell when I'm done.

Craft:
I wish I had something to say here. My knitted socks project has been sitting on the end table for more than a week. By the time I get to it again I'm going to have to blow the dust off of it 1st.

Tonight's recipe is from the 5 Ingredient Recipes Cookbook: Sweet Onion Skillet Bread.

DoorDash DashCam. Random 3 minute video during my daily drive around the Allen / McKinney, TX delivery area. Road Scenic, no conversation. https://youtu.be/K2fqTQgpW_g?si=8bnSe1Q9xM4TwWX1

Blog Today:
I just made another Etsy sale. Woo! This time I sold digital Betta fish coloring pages. It was a good weekend, really busy though. I didn't craft at all but I did get some Minecraft time in on Sunday. It's a new month. Happy July! I don't like this month though because my son would have turned 28 this month, but he's gone now. It's going to be his 1st birthday without him here. Additionally, my husband is going away for 5 days this month & I can't go because of the dogs, so not only am I going to be lonely but I'm going to be missing out on a lot. Speaking of missing out, looking at today's random previous blog post ... I really miss doing DoorDash. I loved that job. I was out in the sun, driving, listening to music, & making money. Oh I miss that! All of it. I have 4 insane Chiweenies now that can fight at the drop of a hat, so I can't leave them alone. They're littermates, that's why they're so quick to start a fight with each other. 4 brothers. Ugh! DoorDash doesn't have anything that says you can't bring dogs with you when you're working, but I would have to leave them alone in the car while I'm in the restaurant & when I'm delivering to the person. If they start a fight in the car it would be really bad. Plus people tend to freak out if they see dogs left alone in a car even if the engine is running so having them in cages wouldn't work either. Lastly, they really hate the car. They get nervous & pant heavily the entire time, even in the winter. Some dogs love going for a ride, but mine don't unfortunately. But oh how I miss DoorDashing!

Craft:
I really need to figure out the schedule thing. I have so much going on now that crafting isn't happening much anymore. By the time I finish everything I'm out of time. What to cut? I'm awake 16 hours. 8 hours is need-to-do stuff that can't get cut from the schedule. The other 8 hours is also important (to me), so ... what to cut?? I miss crafting. I might have to change the schedule to alternate, in other words one of the items gets moved from daily to every other day. Then I can do that thing on M-W-F & crafting on T-Th-Sa. Yeah, that's what I'm going to have to do. I love Minecraft but that's the one that will most likely get moved to every other day since it IS only a game & isn't productive AT ALL. Pure entertainment value can be the one to take a back seat.

Dinner:
Hmmm ... let me look at my recipe cards for tonight. And the random card is ... Carrot Cake Cheese Ball.

Blog Post Previous:
Post #43 of 758 total is from May 7, 2012 in my previous blog:
My application to Beta test something new & cool has been accepted! I like Beta testing ... I've got the Beta of firefox on here right now, but the most Beta testing fun I ever had was Beta testing the larger software like Windows (I Beta tested Chicago) & AOL. This is a 1st Beta testing an EA game though & I can't wait! It looks like it's going to be really fun based on the screenshots I've seen. Other than that, I had a good weekend, watched Meet Joe Black again & really enjoyed it again. Made a wonderful beef roast with potatoes & baby carrots yesterday, & LCFD Maintenance on Tuesday. :)

Blog Today:
I got a little distracted yesterday & learned a lot about numerology. I'm thinking of selling readings on Fiverr. I'm going to practice on myself first though & once I get good (and faster) at it, I'll put an ad up on Fiverr. It's not going to be anything special, it's going to be like a horoscope but instead of using astrology I'll be using biorhythms & numerology. "The stars might lie but the numbers never do!" (a lyric from a song I like). I got so distracted with learning & planning yesterday that I didn't craft, game, work on the home, or play Minecraft. It's ok though, I was really excited & I like that ... being that amped up over something is nice instead of just sitting & knitting while staring at the TV. Knitting is productive, but not nearly as exciting.

Craft:
As I mentioned above, I got so sidetracked with numerology that I didn't craft yesterday. I'm currently working on a pair of 2-needle flat knit socks. I'm thinking of diversifying my crafting again. I'm really torn between having only ONE project at a time going vs having one of EACH TYPE of project going for variety. You know, knit one day, bead another, etc.

Dinner:
No special plans for dinner tonight, just peanut butter on rye, open faced. Every time I look at a previous blog post from 12 years ago I'm amazed at all the beautiful dinners I used to cook. Back then though, the kids were little & living at home & hubby wasn't diabetic yet with high triglycerides & all the other issues. These days I'm only preparing dinner for myself & a beef roast with vegetables seems like a lot of time & effort for 'just me', so peanut butter on bread is just fine. Sad, but fine.

Game of the Day:
House Flipper

Home:
The home location I'd like to concentrate on improving today is outdoors (anywhere on the property). The only problem with that is when I get to that it's also going to be the hottest time of the day & here, that's going to be 99°. Nope!

Minecraft:
These days my main focus is a personal world called Aurora that I've had for over a decade. I play that world only in creative mode on peaceful because I'm building a town & I love love love how it looks. Every build is on a site called BuildPaste & some nights I livestream a minecart tour around the town. This proved annoying at first because it never failed, I'd fall asleep with the livestream going & some stupid animal would walk onto the track & stop the cart. I wake up & the cart is just sitting there. I think I sufficiently killed every living thing that can walk onto the tracks now. I feel bad, I hate killing animals in Minecraft, but they were screwing up my livestream. A friend of mine who, like me, starts up a Minecraft server for about a month (every 3 months) started a new one & invited me, so I've been playing on there for now. On day 1 I went way out far from spawn & found a place in the woods. It was great, but it was too dangerous. Too dark because of all the trees, too many monsters, & I had nothing. No armor, starter weapons ... I had to get out of there. I came back to spawn on day 2 & found a place out in the open plains on the water, away from spawn but near enough to run over there now & then. On day 3 the owner said "come closer, we have plenty of room right here at spawn!", so I pulled up my floor that I had just put down (I started building already) & moved over there. Right in the big middle of things. I found a nice place on the edge of a cliff overlooking the water & in plain sight of the house at spawn. I built my house there. Things were great, except someone kept planting huge spruce trees all over the field in between my house & spawn. That made it darker, I had no view (except tree trunks), & it was a monster spawning nightmare after dark. To cut down these trees takes a lot of time & effort because they're massive 4x4 super tall trees. I cut them all down. The next day I logged in & they were all back. This went on several times & I finally packed up all my stuff & moved. Now I'm on a small island out in the ocean away from everyone. It's bright, open, & beautiful. I'm staying there. I really like these guys on the server & I've known them over a decade, but I like the nice bright open plains & they apparently love trees. Lots of them. Anyway, I built my starter home in the center of the island & next I'm going to build a beautiful fishing dock.

Astrology (Gemini):
Our symbol is The Twins: Associated with duality, humanism, versatility, communication.

Biorhythm:

  • Physical state: Positive
  • Emotional state: Negative
  • Intellectual state: Positive
  • Intuitive state: Negative

Physical instability
Be careful when using tools and appliances, working with fire or electricity, or when operating machinery or transports. Accidents or injuries may occur on the job.

Intellectual maximum
The intellectual maximum increases creativity. During this period, the most difficult problems can be solved with ease. This is a good time for negotiations, signing contracts, and making decisions of great importance.

Intuitive minimum
The intuitive minimum is characterized by a loss of the sixth sense. Decisions made intuitively at this time may prove false. There is no inspiration for creative work.

  • Physical is mid at 50%. Tracks strength, endurance, powers and state of health. Physical fitness, strength, & stamina.
  • Emotional is low at 34%. Tracks the stability & positive energy of psyche & outlook on life, as well as capacity to empathize with & build rapport with other people. Mood, emotions, perception and creativity.
  • Intellectual is max at 100%. Representative of intellectual dynamics: verbal, mathematical, symbolic, & creative abilities, as well as capacity to apply reason & analysis to the world around you. Thinking, learning, memory, communication, logic and analytical abilities.
  • Intuitive is min at 0%. Know when you can trust your "sixth sense". The cycle tracks an unconscious perception and instincts.

Primary overall is high at 61%

  • Wisdom is high today at 67%. Wisdom encompasses your understanding of the world, your role in it, and the things that are truly important to your life. This cycle also tracks the presence of mind that you need to make crucial decisions.

Secondary overall is high at 61%

  • Perception is low at 25%. Physical/Intuition pattern is probably the hardest of the basic patterns to name. That's probably because Physical and Intuition are diametrically opposed on the surface. On the contrary, they are the same as all extremes meet. Physical covers the 5 basic senses that everyone is aware of and Intuition embodies the ethereal (electromagnetic) senses that are just beyond the reach of conventional science. Many plants and animals on this planet have been proven by science to have perceptions beyond that which most people realize, and untold unsolved crimes have been solved with the help of Psychics. This pattern was named the PERCEPTION pattern for obvious reasons.
  • Psychic is low at 17%. (ESP, Precognition, Remote Viewing, etc.).
  • Success is mid at 50%. (Business, Financial, Scientific discoveries, etc.).

Extra overall is low at 30%

  • Aesthetic is low at 20%. Creativity & creative skills.
  • Awareness is low at 34%. Influences confidence and self-awareness.
  • Spiritual is low at 20%. Influences inner stability and attitude and the perception and personal relationship to what exceeds a person: to God.

Blog Post Previous:
Post #491 of 759 total is from October 29, 2013 in this blog:
Good morning! Yesterday I made Eggo waffles for us for breakfast, cleaned the house, got the mail, we went grocery shopping at Kroger, I showered, took the dogs out, made a chili cheese dog for lunch, & then thought long & hard about making a beaded knit afghan, but couldn't come up w/ any ideas that I thought would look good. There's just something about plastic pony beads on a knit afghan (or sweater) that I don't think would look good. Not to mention the loud noise it would make in the dryer. Instead, I started on an entrelac knit hand towel that looks very nice & will finish quickly. No special pattern since it's being made from 2 color-changing cotton yarns. When it was time, I stopped knitting & made chicken fried steak & mashed potatoes for dinner. Yesterday's Sims game was Modern Beach House & my Sim Jeanita Ware aged up into a child & started working on her athletic skill. This morning I took the dogs out & loaded up Remington. My Sim Michael Jones (2nd gen) joined the military & is working on his athletic skill.

Daily Life:
I'd like to buy something for the home from Amazon today, either from the Daily Deals or my Whishlist. I'll probably end up buying a cable for my son's iPhone. I need to connect it to my PC & don't have any iPhone related cables because it's been YEARS since I had an iPhone. After that a little more work on the knit socks, then Minecraft, then dinner. What's for dinner you ask? Well, I'm not in the mood too cook tonight, we already did takeout last night, so Fruit Loops it is. lol

Numerology: This also ties in with Astrology in some form. Geminis are linked to Mercury. People of this sign often have an androgynous quality, with a slim & youthful body. Geminis usually have bright, expressive faces & enjoy using their hands when conveying ideas. Loving to talk, Geminis can chatter on for hours. Young in outlook, Geminis are often compared to the eternal child, always in a state of wonder.

  • Perception is low at 32%.

Post #73 or 758 total is from June 9, 2012 in the original Blogger set before this one:
Went on a MVA call yesterday & then grabbed a double cheeseburger & came home & collected a lot of graphics & even played with PSP a bit myself. What I finally ended up doing mostly was coding my Web pages. Made them look all fancy again. I missed the personal touch of the graphics backgrounds with the borders & all the pretty stuff. The only thing missing from the days of old is the midi tune playing in the background ... but I have iTunes now. :) FD Maintenance Tuesday night.

Daily Life: I really wish I could go outside because I'd love to clean out & organize the shed, but due to the dogs I can't do that. So many things would have to happen first. The entire back yard would have to be cleaned, the fence that we used to have would have to go back up, and ... oh yeah, it would have to be UNDER 98°-100° which is what it's supposed to be today & that's the real temp, not the "feels like" which is going to be about 10° higher than that. So cleaning out the shed is a great idea, but not when it feels like 108°-110°. Nope, I'm too old for that kind of heat. Back in the day, no problem ... but now? No way! I'm hoping to get some knitting done on the socks I started. I'm not sure about this pattern though. I found it on Ravelry & although it looks great because it's done completely flat on 2 needles instead of 4, there's no shaping involved. They're just going to be tubes & I'm not sure how that's going to look on the top of the foot at the ankle. Won't it be all bunched up? I'll make 1 & see if I want to bother making the 2nd one or not. Now somewhere I do have a pattern for socks made flat but they're shaped & those come out really nice. I should have just made a pair of those instead, but I figured I'd give these a try. Finishing the 1st sock will decide whether or not I make the 2nd & if the pattern stays in my favorites in Ravelry. For dinner tonight I was reminded of Amazon giving GrubHub to everyone who is a Prime member as part of their membership benefits. That would be a great idea if it were the weekend, but since it's a weekday it's much faster (& cheaper) to have Pete stop on his way home from work. I don't need anything from the grocery store today, so it's a perfect time for him to grab something on his way home. I'll look at the DoorDash site later & pick a place for him to stop at.

DoorDash: Speaking of DoorDash, let's just go ahead & do that now since I wanted to spotlight a restaurant or store daily anyway. Some of these may be little mom & pop places that are in my local area only, some may be chains that can be found in your area too. This, like most things in my life will be chosen at random. Going back to the 'Blog Post Previous' above, I can only guess that I ate at Burger King that day because it's usually the only place I ever get a double cheeseburger. I can't eat much & those are small enough for me to finish. If I get a double cheeseburger anywhere else, they're way too huge for me to even think of finishing. The way this is done is that I go to DoorDash's site, scroll down until I get to "All Stores" & then keep scrolling until I hit the bottom. I count as I go & once I get the number of places currently open (it changes daily), I run a random number generator on that number & then go back up & scroll to the number that was chosen. There's our random place for the day (and today where I'm going to ask Pete to stop on his way home. There are 394 places to choose from in my local area & those are just the places that do DoorDash (I personally know of many that do not) ... so this area is amazing for foodies & shoppers! So let's see what today's place is ... And the winner is Pho Que Huong Noodle & Grill. A Vietnamese restaurant that is of the most loved restaurants on DoorDash, one of the top rated & most reliable. Local chain showcasing Vietnamese noodle soup & other Asian classics in a casual setting.

Numerology: This also ties in with Astrology in some form. Geminis are natural communicators with a never-ending thirst for knowledge, Geminis are eternatl students. Being an Air sign & very intelligent, Geminis are always on the move, always trying to satisfy their mental curiosity. Extremely quick at picking out the salient points of any subject, they acquire a wide general knowledge, which they love to share with others. Geminis can be bright, multitalented, & enthusiastic but must guard against scattering their energies in too many directions. Through mental discipline & education, Geminis may learn to develop a greater depth of thought.

June 25, 2024 - Suicide

I'm back & I'm completely stunned as to how many views this blog is still getting even though I haven't REALLY posted anything daily for 6 years now. Since you're all still around, let's work on getting NEW daily content once again. So ... THIS happened:

The main news is that I lost my son to suicide on May 19, 2024. At 10:52p he sent me an email with a bunch of photos of himself. We had talked about this, so I didn't think anything of it when I saw the email later that night. I was watching TV with Pete when the email came in, so I didn't know about it immediately. Before bed I did a final check of my email for the night & saw the photos. I thought to myself "oh, cool. He sent the photos finally.' I saved them to my PC & saved the email to my saved folder. I started getting ready for bed & shutting everything down for the evening. What I didn't know was that at 10:53p, 1 minute after my son sent me the photos, he placed a call to 911 to report a suicide (his own). Dispatch was confused because they thought someone already had committed suicide. Then they figured out that it was a threat of suicide, then he admitted that it was him (going to be him). The dispatcher did everything she could to keep him talking but he knew that trick & apologized to her repeatedly & said he didn't want to be rude & hang up on her, but he has to go now. He told her many times "it's ok". Those were his last words. He hung up & she immediately tried to call him back with no luck. I'm assuming as soon as he hung up, he pulled the trigger at 10:57p. It would be an hour & a half later that the police would pull in our driveway to give us the notification. I have video of this, I had literally JUST gone to bed. I mean we're talking about 10 seconds. I turned off the final light, crawled into bed & the dogs went nuts because they saw headlights in the driveway. I got back up & saw the reflection of headlights on the brush guard that the County Sheriff SUVs all have & I knew. I knew something was horribly wrong. I knew my son was suicidal & my daughter also, so I didn't know which one they were to notify me on, but I had a horrible sinking feeling that it was one of them. I knew these nice officers didn't stop by for coffee at 12:27a. My dogs were going insane so I ran & got my husband to go outside & greet the officers because I had to stay inside & keep the dogs from getting so worked up that they started a fight with each other. After a few minutes my husband came back inside, slammed the front door & stormed past me. My notification (from my husband) was nowhere near as nice as the officers give notifications. My husband was PISSED. Once my husband was inside, I was able to go outside & get the news again & any details they had, which wasn't much. They did tell me that he called 911 & was found deceased in his apartment with a single gunshot wound to the head. He was 27 years old.

The next day my husband & I packed up the dogs into the car & drove 1 hour to our son's apartment. There was so much blood. I never realized a small body could leave that much & it was still mostly wet. We got as much as we could as far as personal belongings. Paperwork, PC, laptop, etc. The next day my husband rented a truck & went up there to empty the apartment. I stayed here & watched the dogs & then tried to integrate a full 2 bedroom apartment into our relatively small house that we already have overfull with 60 years of our own crap. I also got the 911 audio from his call & it's very hard to listen to your son when he's that sad & saying "it's ok" to try to ease the weight of the calltaker because he knows this is a call where she's going to feel as if she failed because she couldn't save him. I happen to know there is absolutely nothing she could have said to prevent what happened. I hope she knows that.

Now I've never been really religious but let me tell you, this has made some significant changes in my life. I went to Catholic church as a teen, I was told by my grandmother that I was Protestant, & along the way I've just been wandering without any labelled religion. I know what I belive, but none of the organized religions seem to match exactly. When I lost my son though, I wanted to know that he was ok. That he was happy now. That his 14 years of pain & depression were over. I have been doing a lot of research on NDEs (Near Death Experiences) & it has brought me a lot of comfort. I searched again for religion. I know the Catholic church has backed off on that whole 'all suicides burn in hell for eternity' thing, but it still bothered me so I backed away from the largest religion. Then I looked into the oldest religion, Hinduism. I like a lot of it but much of it is confusing because I don't speak the language & they will tell you over & over that their beliefs absolutely do not translate well (or at all) into English. I gave up because without learning a new language, I wasn't going to get much out of it. Not their fault ... I was born & raised in the U.S. & only speak English. So I'm sticking with my beliefs & leaving them unlabelled. I have a mix of Catholic, Hinduism, & Wiccan with sprinkles of astrology, biorhythms, & numerology on top. It works for me & I'm sure there's not a labelled religion out there that matches that. If you know of one, please let me know. It's not that I need an organized religion to label myself, but it would be nice to find others who think like I do. Out of all the people in the world, I can't be the only one with that specific mix of beliefs.

Now onto what you can expect on this once again daily blog. My main interests ... Astrology, biorhythms, Catholic, crafting, daily life, Kyle, & numerology. I like everything to be neat & orderly, so they will be arranged in alphabetical order, in separated paragraphs, so you don't need to read the entire thing if you don't want to. You can scroll down & easily find what you like.

Catholic (Cross of the day that I like to create on DeviantArt):

Crafting: Right now I'm working on a pair of knitted socks, nothing exciting. I just completed a knit pillow cover for one of our throw pillows for the sofa.

Daily Life: Nothing new happens. I don't leave the house because I have 4 dogs who go insane & if I'm not here to break up a fight over literally anything at the drop of a hat, the littlest one would most likely be killed. Since I love all my dogs, I don't leave. When we had to go to my son's apartment, I took them with us & since they're not used to going out in the car, they were very unhappy. They were shivering & crying the entire time & I felt horrible, but it couldn't be avoided. IF anything exciting (or even remotely different) happens, I'll talk about it here ... but every day is the same. I do the same things, in the same order, every single day. No ... I'm not bored or lonely. I love my life. I love everything about it. Some people love to be outside doing, going, & experiencing ... some love to be inside crafting & watching TV. That would be me. :)

Kyle: What can I say? He's gone & I miss him terribly. I remember in one of the asteroid is going to destroy earth movies, a man was talking about the loss of his wife. He said every marriage has its ups & downs. Good years & bad years. She died on a good year. It was the same way with me & my son. Once he moved out & got away from have me up his nose all day & night & my dogs barking every time he opened his bedroom door, we got along much better. He started calling me almost every day to talk about anything & everything. We had spent so long not getting along while he was living here (as a teen all the way through adulthood ... about 13 years) that I had forgotton how nice it was when we DID get along. The last year with him was very nice. I had a friend in him again. Someone to talk to about ... stuff. We were poliotical opposites but thanks to being on the debate team in high school, he was able to discuss political headlines with me without either of us getting all frustrated & angry. I miss his daily calls. I miss him. I understand WHY he did what he did, but I wish ... he could have found a way ... some way to ease his sadness. I just miss him so much.

Numerology: This also ties in with Astrology in some form. Gemini is the 3rd sign, mutable air, ruling planet is Mercury, Body parts are lungs, arms, & hands, & keywords are versatility, talkativeness, & ingenuity.
