November 22, 2013

Good morning! A high today only in the 30s. WOOHOO! Today is going to be a long day of going out ... I have to go grocery shopping & also to work. Not sure which I'm doing 1st though. Yesterday was a perfect day. I made breakfast sausage, cleaned the house, drove someone to the college so they could take care of some academic business, stopped for lunch on the way back, took the dogs out, sent out the grocery list, added a movie to the queue from Blockbuster @ Home, played Scrambler, & then sat down to work on my entrelac afghan which is still coming out beautifully! Yesterday's Sims game was the film star career & my Sim Hazel Ashton (2nd gen) just aged up into a child & gained the eccentric trait. She's ½ vampire, so she mastered the painting & writing skills almost instantly. She'll master every skill she tries within a minute of trying it. I guess that kinda guarantees her future, doesn't it? She's going to be a film star like everyone in that family, but anything else she does will be perfect whether it's a best selling book or a brilliant painting. This morning was work, then I took the dogs out & loaded up Small Steps Daycare. My Sim Vinnie just learned the gardening skill as a hobby. His lifetime wish is to be a CEO, so he doesn't need any specific skills for work. I still think that's funny ... CEO is the only career in Sims that doesn't require ANY skills. HAHAHA! I wonder what the EA CEO thinks about that. LOL! I have to work tomorrow & I don't blog on Sunday, so I'll type at you all again on Monday.

If you live in a state that doesn't sell beer on Sunday, plan ahead during this family filled weekend. They aren't leaving anytime soon, & sometimes sedation is the best medicine. Been there, done that.

Sweet little old gray-haired lady came up to me just before the show & says, "You know, you remind me of Charlie Chaplin." And I said, "You mean because I'm a brilliant artist?" She said, "No, because he never said anything funny either." -Johnny Carson 1986

There's intrinsic security that comes from service, from helping other people in a meaningful way.

When San Francisco Giants pitcher Terry Mulholland caught a baseball that became lodged in his glove, he tossed the entire thing to the 1st baseman, who tagged the runner out!
